RPKA maintains an excellent team of professionals with high levels of experience in all facets of civil and geotechnical engineering, as well as surveying. We developed a staff that is trained to be responsive to the immediate needs of our clients and to their project requirements.

 

Rodney P. Kinney, Jr., P.E.

As a Principal of RPKA, Rodney is a Register Professional Civil and Structural Engineer who is responsible for the overall project management and coordination for all geotechnical investigations, civil engineering, soil and material testing, and surveying projects. Rod built outstanding relationships with the firm’s clients, consultants, and our own staff. His duties as Project Manager include coordination and management of all aspects of a project including budget and schedule controls. Rod’s areas of expertise include geotechnical and geophysical investigations, hydrology studies, foundation design, civil engineering design for water and wastewater facilities, roads, parking lots, drainage and general site development design; environmental assessment studies, bridge design, bridge inspection, land surveying, master planning, construction inspection and administration and material testing.

 

Chris Kinney, P.E.

Chris is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer who is a Principal and Senior Project Manager with over 27 years of experience. His experience includes all phases of a project for roads, water and sewer systems, boardwalks, site development, parking lots, water wells, housing facilities, erosions control, bank stabilization, docking facilities, schools, restaurants, storage facilities, community centers, and senior citizen centers. In addition, he has extensive experience in establishing project programs, creating construction budgets, and preparing cost estimates for contracts to be advertised and constructed. His experience managing the execution of projects from on-the-boards to in-the-ground is immense.

 

Clark Kinney, P.L.S.

Clark is a registered Professional Land Surveyor, as well as a Principal of RPKA with 31 years of experience in producing and managing all of the firm’s Surveying and AutoCAD Drafting efforts. Geophysical field studies involving earth resistivity and seismic refraction techniques are also his responsibility. Clark supervises test hole drilling and logging of results. He directs placement and construction of soil fills and asphalt pavement. He also provides construction inspection services.

 

Brian Pederson, P.E., P.L.S.

Brian is a registered Professional Civil and Structural Engineer and Professional Licensed Surveyor with vast experience in all types of civil and structural engineering in Alaska.

 

Mark Alder, P.E.

Mark is a registered Professional Civil and Structural Engineer with vast experience in all types of civil and structural engineering. Mark has worked on most of RPKA projects completed to date that included water, sewer, drainage, roadways, site investigations, and site design.

 

Greg Eberle, P.E.

Greg is a registered Professional Civil Engineer with vast experience in all types of civil engineering. Greg has worked on most recent RPKA projects that included water, sewer, drainage, roadways, site investigations, and site design.

 

Aaron Hiemstra, P.E.

Aaron is a registered Professional Civil Engineer who is routinely involved in road, bridge, boardwalk, water, and sewer systems design work. He regularly works with RPKA Project Managers on plan reviews, calculations, analysis, cost estimates, and quality control for various types of projects.

 

Kevin Smith, P.L.S.

Kevin is a Professional Land Surveyor who serves as RPKA’s Chief of Surveying providing surveying for our projects throughout Alaska. His experience includes platting, public meeting and daily direction of survey crews. He routinely prepares topographic maps and exhibits for state and federal entities. In addition, Kevin regularly works with various departments within all governmental entities on platting and permitting processes.
